Jeanne Feeney, dancer, choreographer and movement therapist, has been
a certified practitioner of Body-Mind Centering™ since 1989.
She directs the Movement Laboratory where she teaches private sessions,
classes and workshops for adults and children. At the Studio Theatre
in WDC, she is on the faculty of the Acting Conservatory.
Drawn to BMC after it healed her injured wrists, she has been using this
work in a wide spectrum of settings and found it to be remarkably versatile
and life changing. Jeanne has brought Movement Laboratory to corporate
settings and to new mothers in challenged conditions.
CNN interviewed her and featured her prenatal movement class to an international
audience about pre and perinatal psychology and health. She has successfully
applied principals from this body of knowledge to choreographing an award
winning musical, teaching dance, acting and yoga students, and facilitating
women’s retreats in Mexico.
Movement Laboratory has reached clients in the Washington, DC, Maryland
and Virginia areas as well as New York City, several European countries
and Japan. She has been a guest artist in dance at the Center for New
Dance Development in the Netherlands, American University, George Washington
University, and Connecticut College, her alma mater.
Jeanne maintains a private practice in her home studio in Takoma Park,
MD and offers on-going class series on movement embodiment and fitness,
prenatal classes, and infant developmental movement classes.
"In my work I transmit the idea that through the embodiment
of ourselves, we can support the transformation of the soul and further
our work in the world."
